The spatial composition of Japanese building is clean and simple. Thenecessary materials are used skillfully to gain their maximum effect, so thatthe columns keep the roof up, and the building fixtures use the thinnestpossible materials, while pursuing beauty. This approach has created asimple and uncluttered beauty.This building makes full use of modern technology and materials, but itavoids showy, extravagant forms and makes use of limited materials to createoverall harmony, with attention to detail down to the handles and nail covers.This realizes the values that came from our forefathers, expressing theJapan’s minimalist sense of beauty.Yoshinobu SatoIn the garden plan, the thick-trunked trees that grew on the site are left in place, built into the new garden as key elements.
