地場産の木材と在来工法で環境負荷を低減。Local-grown timber and conventional construction methods reduce environmental loads.耐火検証法によって、地場産の檜の使用を可能にした町民ホール。The Fire Resistance Verification method made it possible to use locally-grown hinoki in the public hall.石と木と土の館芦北町大野温泉センター・ふれあい交流館建物は在来工法による檜梁大丸太の和小屋組を基本とした空間で、床も檜で、壁は本しっくいを使用し、総檜の大浴場は、床のすのこまで全て檜で、壁の表面には耐久性を持たせるため柿渋を塗っています。使用した木材は全て地場産材です。外壁も地場の杉板張りで、表面には伝統塗料を再現した「久米蔵」や木酢くん液を塗布しています。下部の石積みは、近郊水俣の川石を佐敷城跡の石垣に倣って施工しています。地域に根ざした素材を使うことで、結果的に環境負荷の少ない建築となりました。遠松展弘、吉生　寛地場檜で地元をアピールする榛原町庁舎新しい町のシンボルとなる庁舎として、町の歴史を育くんできた地元産の檜材を積極的に活用することと、恵まれた環境を生かして光・風・水を利用したグリーン建築とすることをテーマとしました。地元の森林組合の方から、檜材については、表層だけを貼り付ける化粧のような使用法ではなく、木の本来の良さを発揮できるムク材での使用を強く要請されました。防災拠点として、不燃化が必要な庁舎において、木材の使用には制限がありますが、耐火検証法によって、建物全体の可燃物の量をコントロールしながら、重要な部位についてはムクの木材が使用できるよう工夫しました。宮川　浩A building of stone, wood and earthOono Hot-Spring Resort CenterThe building uses traditional wood-framed construction in aspace based on "wagoyagumi" Japanese-style roof struts built oflarge hinoki (Japanese cypress) logs. The large bathing area iscompletely finished in hinoki, down to the duckboards on the floor,with persimmon tannin painted on the wall surfaces for durability. All timber was grown locally. The exterior walls are clad withboards of local cedar, painted with kumezo paint and wood acid, in arecreation of traditional paints. The stone footings use stonesgathered from the nearby Minamata River. The use of materialsrooted in the local area has created a building that imposes littleenvironmental load.Nobuhiro Toumatsu and Hiroshi YoshioLocaly-grown cypress expresses local characterHaibara Town HallAs a new symbol for the town, we made extensive use of the localhinoki timber that has supported the town's history. And, by using light, windand water, this green building enjoys the benefits of an abundantenvironment. The local forestry cooperative strongly wanted the hinoki timberto be used untreated and unaffected, to show its true quality, rather thanused cosmetically as a surface layer.
