The scope of one individual’s activities and direct communications on a daily basis is not very large. We thus designed 12 distinctive “cities” in 200 x 300-meter size blocks, each consisting of buildings of an aggregate floor space of 60,000 square meters where about 1,500 people work. Each “city” has a plaza, garden, dining hall and cafés, while an LRT and pedestrian networks link the different themed “cities” together. These facilities encourage movement between the different parts of the complex, allowing people who work in “Granada,” for example, to take the light rail on their lunch hour to “Heidelburg” for lunch at the castle, and then stroll through “Paris” on their way back.
