Lines of Life「Lines of Life」と題し、「Stitching the nation with lines of life」をテーマに、国土を縦断するレールコリドーが、緑豊かな生態系を維持しながら、市民に愛されるパブリックスペースとして、連続的かつ一体的に生まれ変わるための戦略的、包括的なデザイン提案を行いました。線路に沿った南北のつながりだけでなく、レールコリドーの東西に位置するコミュニティ同士の関係性を紡ぎ合わせることで、時間とともに成長する、より豊かな生活環境の創出を目指しています。「Lines of Life」によって、レールコリドーが周辺環境の発展を喚起し、さらにはシンガポール市民の一体感を醸成させる触媒となることを見据えています。　URAのウン・ランCEOを委員長とする12名の専門家からなる審査委員会からは、「レールコリドー全体にわたり、コミュニティが主役となる空間とそこでのさまざまな体験を創造するためのデザインを提案しており、よく考え抜かれた戦略的で強固なマスタープランである。その系統だったデザインアプローチは、コンペ要綱が求めるすべてのプランニングとデザインの要求に応えている」と評価されました。 Lines of LifeDubbing the project “Lines of Life” and making “stitching the nation with lines of life” its guiding theme, the Nikken Sekkei team devised a strategic and all-embracing design for re-creating the Rail Corridor stretching across the country into a continuous and unified public space, to win the hearts of citizens while maintaining a lush green ecosystem. By weaving in relationships with the communities located east and west of the corridor, it aims at creating even more abundant living environments that will grow with the passage of time. Through the provision of superior, integrated public space, the Rail Corridor will stimulate development in adjacent areas, serving as a medium for further fostering a sense of unity among the Singaporean people.
