Photography｜小野強志／Tsuyoshi Ono「シンガポール・レールコリドー」展 パブリックスペースでまちをつなぐThe Rail Corridor Exhibition Reuniting Neighborhoods with Public Spaceシンガポールと日本の外交関係樹立50周年記念事業（SJ50）として、日建グループは「レールコリドー展――パブリックスペースでまちをつなぐ」を日建設計東京ビル1Fギャラリーにて開催しました。会場では、今回のコンペティションの背景、経過、成果品やこれからの動きを紹介。亜熱帯植物や、枕木で制作したベンチなどを導入し、アニメーションや敷地のウォークスルービデオと合わせて、緑あふれるレールコリドーを歩く楽しさを来場者が体験できるようにしました。また、パブリックスペース活用の試みとして、ギャラリー前に期間限定のカフェスペースを創出。開会にあたってはシンガポール公使をお招きしたオープニング・レセプションも行いました。　日本の都市も成熟期に入り、パブリックスペースの重要さは日々増しています。今回の提案が、日本のパブリックスペースの活性化のきっかけにもなることを願っています。 As part of the events in 2016 marking the 50th anniversary of restoration of Japanese diplomatic relations with Singapore, the Nikken Group opened “The Rail Corridor Exhibition: Reuniting Neighborhoods with Public Space” in the 1st-floor gallery of the Nikken Sekkei Tokyo building. The exhibit included displays regarding the background, process, and results of the competition and provides a taste of the ideas and plans to be developed. Using planters of tropical vegetation and furnishings such as benches made of railway sleepers, as well as animation videos and a walk-through video of the site, the exhibit offers visitors a feel for the pleasure of strolling in the greenery of the Rail Corridor. The Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Singapore was a guest at the opening reception for the exhibition.Japan’s own cities have greatly matured in recent years, and awareness of the importance of public space is increasing.
