12Photography｜1–3：河野博之［西日本写房福岡］／Hiroyuki Kawano [Nisinihon Shaboh Fukuoka]｜4：日建設計／Nikken Sekkei玄海灘を望む白砂青松の地にある日本屈指の名門ゴルフ場「古賀ゴルフ・クラブ」のクラブハウスの建替えです。質実剛健を基本的な考えとし、来場された皆様がゴルフを愉しみ、交流し、今後さらなる歴史を積み重ねていけるような場を計画しました。　コースの景観をパノラマで楽しめるという、以前のクラブハウスのもっていた価値を継承しつつ、中心軸をIN・OUTのスタートホールに正対させる形で新たなクラブハウスを配置しました。コースを望む2階のレストランには、屋根勾配に沿う約23mスパンの集成材の登り梁を架け、中央には幹と枝に見立てた木柱を配置して大空間を形成しました。中央の木柱は、オウシュウアカマツの集成材を最小半径で湾曲させ、6本の枝を1つに束ねることで枝部と幹部を構成しました。これにより、木材で覆われた、豊かで心からくつろげるクラブハウスを実現しています。The rebuilt clubhouse of the Koga Golf Club, one of Japan’s most famous courses, is located overlooking a beautiful inlet on the Genkai Sea on the northern side of Kyushu Island. Guided by the basic values of simplicity and strength, we planned the building to enable the club to carry on the long history of its predecessor in supporting the pleasures of golfing and socializing for everyone who visits.The panoramic view of the course follows long clubhouse tradition. The building faces the starting hole. The second-floor restaurant looking out over the course occupies a large open volume, spanned by laminated roof beams approximately 23 meters long supported with an arrangement of tree-like support posts. The support structure was made by combining 6 bowed laminated timber members to form a tree-like column support to each of the roof beam members.
