Photography｜1–5：NAD｜6：山添雄彦／Takehiko Yamazoe｜7：佐藤 勲／Isao Sato23WORKSパブリックスペースにおける新しい都市型サービスの挿入：「働く」を支えるワークスペースとしての地下鉄「移動しながら」の経験をより豊かにすることを目指し、木製のファニチャーを表参道駅（ホーム）、溜池山王駅（ホーム・コンコース）に試験設置しました。地下鉄での移動中に電話がかかってきてちょっと話したいとき、家に帰る前にちょっとメールをしたいとき、カフェに入るまでもないけれどちょっとだけ資料のチェックをしたいとき、そんな合間の時間を快適に使えるだけで、ワークスタイルやライフスタイルがちょっと変わるかもしれません。移動の合間の過ごし方や時間の使い方が拡がることで、いつもの日常が「ちょっと」豊かになるような新しい移動経験の提供を目指しました。　ファニチャーは、ユーザーのマインドの切り替えを促すことを意図して木を基調としたデザインとしています。木部材による囲われ感とともに、音環境や香り環境など、人間の五感に作用する環境や場づくりを目指しました。Innovative Urban Services for Public Space: The Subway as Workspace for Working PeopleIn exploring ways people can make simultaneous use of their transit time, we experimented by placing clusters of wooden furniture on the platform at Omotesando Station and the platform and concourse at Tameikesanno Station. We thought that being able to spend the extra in-transit moments more comfortably or pleasantly—by providing places to check email quickly en route or pause briefly to look up articles or information prior to a meeting without having to go to a coffee shop—might change and enhance the way people live and work. Our goal was to help create something new in the quality of public transit by accommodating people as they move from one place to another, even tempting them to extend that time a little if it will enrich and improve the quality of their lives.In order to encourage passengers to shift their state of mind, we used wood as the primary material for subway furnishings. They are designed not only to extend the welcoming warmth of being surrounded by wood, but to provide a comfortable sound and smell environment that appeals to the five senses.1：表参道駅ホームのファニチャー。木ルーバーの両面にさまざまな高さのベンチやカウンターが取り付く。気分や用途に合わせて居場所が選べる。｜2：同上全景。対面への視界を遮らない木ルーバー。｜3：溜池山王駅に設置したファニチャー全景。音域をチューニングし、心地良い音場をつくり出す音響技術を応用した木部材。｜4：同上利用シーン。パーソナルなブースでさまざまな行動を受け止める。電源やミラー、荷物フック、照明など細やかな機能配置。1: On the Omotesando Station platform, benches and counters are installed at varying heights on two sides of short walls made of vertical wooden slats, offering a variety of user amenities.｜2: Platform furniture at Omotesando. The wooden slats don’t cut off visibility entirely.｜3: Platform furniture at Tameikesanno Station. Acoustic technology is applied to tune the sound range of the wood members for a comfortable sound field.｜4: At Tameikesanno Station, attention to detail shows in the placement of functional elements: electrical outlet, mirror, baggage hooks and lighting.14162016 Autumn 28
