New initiatives can fail. It is important to start small, and to keep building upon small successes rather than risking a large investment from the start. To create a new identity for the Ginza Line, we are currently taking the approach of implementing a number of pilot projects that reflect the way people live rather than simply determining a direction based on its past.「地上にもっとも近い地下鉄」の実現に向けた試み：地上と地下を「人」がつなぐ「地上にもっとも近い地下鉄」を実現していくためには、まちと地下を空間としてつなげるだけではなく、そこで起こるコト、さらにはそこに居合わせた人のマインドがつながっていくことが望ましいのではないかと考えています。そこで、「人」の力で銀座のまちと地下鉄をつないでいくことを目指し、銀座線における実地検証を実施しました。　ファッションチーム「THE HAPPENING」との協働のもと、美しいファッションを身にまとった人々が地下と地上をつないでいく風景をつくり出しました。単なる移動手段としての地下鉄ではなく、「ここならでは」の経験が得られる「まち」としての地下鉄へ向けて、驚きや喜び、ワクワクと出会える地下鉄が体現されました。Highlighting the Reality of “The Subway Closest to Ground Level”: An Aboveground-Underground Human-Connection EventConnections created by events and in the minds of users between the city above and the underground below can greatly enhance the sense of connection between the two spaces and help realize “The Subway Closest to Ground Level.” We conducted an experiment with the Ginza Line aimed to highlight the close connection between the streets of Ginza and the subway.With the cooperation of a team of fashion designers called “Happening,” which provided models dressed in extravagant fashions, we expressed the close connection between underground and ground. The event transformed the subway into a place not just for transit from one point to another but of excitement and surprise, a part of town where unique experiences can be expected.5：銀座線車両内での突然の出会い。美しいファッションをまとったモデルが電車内に突然乗り込む。｜6–7：地下鉄駅ホームにおける一幕。「いつも」の地下鉄の風景が、ファッションにより様変わりする。驚きとともにファッションに目を奪われる人、スマートフォンで撮影を始める人など、パブリックからはさまざまなポジティブなリアクションを得た。5: Encounter with the unexpected: a model in haute-couture fashion gets on a train. ｜6–7: Scene on a subway platform. The humdrum of the subway was transformed by elegant women modeling striking fashions.
