At its heart is the innovation lab, where ideas are generated, and above and below are workshops where ideas are converted into physical form.になりましたね。面白いのは、最初は間仕切りのない空間で会議などをすることに皆慣れない様子でしたが、だんだんと想定していたマインドセットに変わっていったことです。今では区切られた場所だと落ち着かないのではないかな、と思うくらいです。　自分自身も、この中に来るとオープンに視点が延びて、今ある課題解決の先、将来のことをいい意味で楽観的に考えられるようになってきました。この効果は非常に面白いと思いましたね。─未来のヤマハヤマハ株式会社の人たちが見学に来たときに「これってうち（ヤマハ）だよね」と言ったんですよ。建物をつくるときに、空間やコンセプトはヤマハらしくないといけないと思っていて、シンプルであることやネイキッドで天然素材やテクスチャが感じられることを要望していたのですが、そうしたヤマハの精神性が全部、この空間に表れていることをその言葉で再認識しました。　NADがいなかったら、ああはならなかったと思います。従来とは違う、クライアントと受託者との新たな関係を築けたところが、NADの新しさだと思うのです。クライアントである我々の要求を引き出して、それを顕在化させ、一緒に未来を構築する。あれは、「今の僕ら」じゃないんですよね。「未来の僕ら」を引き出して建物に反映して、働き方が変わってきたというところが、すごく良かった。　ここから生み出される新製品に空間がどう影響しているかを測るのは時期尚早ですが、デザインとはじわじわと効いてくる知的アセットですから今後が楽しみです。sive that several people have felt the same way. And everyone became more open-minded. In the beginning, people looked confused to have meetings in spaces without any partitions, but their mindset has changed to what we had hoped for over time. I think they might even have difficulty settling down in a confined meeting room these days. For myself, when I come to this place, my view opens up beyond the solution of the current issue, and I am able to think of the future in an optimistic way. I find this quite inter-esting.─Yamaha in the FutureI was really impressed when people from Yamaha visited this place and said, “this looks like us (Yamaha).” For the design of the building, we asked that it be simple, naked, and full of natural materials and textures. We wanted the spaces and design to express the Yamaha philosophy. The words of such visitor, were affirmation that the space expressed the entire Yamaha spirit. Without NAD, I don’t think we would have had the same building. NAD stands out for its ability to construct new client-consultant relationships unlike the conventional way. They brought out what we want from ourselves, the client, and they make it tangible, enabling us to create the future together. It was not “us in the present”; but they managed to bring out “us in the future,” and reflect that in a building design that leads to the change of our work style.
