to give them something to look forward to by giving people a place to engage in sports. It is difficult to create substantive architecture unless you start asking questions, as NAD mem-bers do, about “what do you actually do in that place?” or “how do you really want the place to be?” If the ultimate goal of architecure is to make people happy, then finding out what makes people happy becomes the critical part of the design. People are always at the center, and drawing out what they want for themselves from the future is very important. Since NAD is able to imagine and create those future needs, I hope that their ability will contin-ue to impress and be appreciated by more people. [Interviewer: Masaya Shioura｜NAD]であって、本当は、ある人がその体育館の中でスポーツをして、楽しくて人生が豊かになり、生きる希望が湧くといったことがゴールですよね。だから、NADのように、「そもそもそこで何をやるんだっけ」「どうなるといいんだっけ」というところまで戻って考えないと本質的な建築はつくれないと思うのです。　建築が最終的に人間を幸せにしなければいけないとなると、そこを掘り下げていくのが一番重要な部分になってくる。結局、最後は人に行き着き、その人たちの未来を引き出していくことがすごく大事だと思うのです。NADは、未来軸をもって、むしろそのニーズを創造するところがあり、今後、ますます必要とされる存在になることを期待しています。［聞き手：塩浦政也｜NAD］11: ダンスフロア。内部への発信・情報共有の拠点として36×45 mのフロアの中心に配置した。吹き抜けを介して全体を見渡せる空間構成によって、暗黙知の醸成やオープンなマインドが生まれることを期待した。設備機器と構造フレームを組み込んだ9×9mの建築ユニットで構成したフロアに、人の活動を促す仕掛けを加えることによって、拡張性・可変性をもちながら多様な居場所や活動が生まれるワークプレイスとした。092017 AUTUMN32FEATURE
