1COOL TREEは、真夏の屋外空間で涼しく寛ぐことのできるクールスポット装置です。日建設計が都市のヒートアイランド対策の一環として2016年から構想し、銘建工業・光栄・村田製作所の3社と共同開発しました。日本らしい木のデザインを都市景観に活かすこと、ゼロエネルギーで稼働できること、製作・廃棄における低環境負荷がコンセプトです。　木陰のそよ風を受け、ひんやりした大地に座るような心地良さを目指しました。格子日除けによる幾何学模様の日陰に近づくと、軒先から水煙のようなミストが出迎え、空気を冷やすとともに視覚的な涼感を演出します。幹を囲うベンチに座れば、接触冷却効果のある座面と、背後から微気流に乗って届く超微細ミストが体をクールダウンしてくれます。　囲いのない正六角形の樹木のような形状は、敷地に合わせてフレキシブルな連続配置が可能です。開放的な屋外に人を引き寄せコミュニケーションが生まれる場を創り、暑さに負けないにぎわいのあるまちづくりに貢献したいと考えています。─ゼロエネルギー・クールスポット涼しさを生み出すための電力は、頂部のソーラーパネルからの太陽光電力のみを使用しています。“Cool Tree” is an amenity designed to provide relief from the summer heat. The idea generated in 2016 by Nikken Sekkei as a way to combat the heat island effect in cities was jointly developed with Meiken Lamwood Corporation, Koei Co., Ltd., and Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Cool Tree is based on three concepts: a feature to enliven the urban landscape with a distinctively Japanese design in wood; zero energy operation; and low environmental impact during manufacturing and upon disposal. We aimed to recreate the comfort of sitting on the cool earth and feeling a pleasant breeze under a tree. A fine mist from the eave’s edge greets those who approach the geometrically shaped shade cast by the latticework. The mist provides a visual sense of coolness as it cools the air. The contact-cooled seating surface placed around the trunk and the superfine mist emitted on a gentle breeze from the latticed cylinder cool down those who choose to sit down.
