To complement that context and scale, the roof was divided into sections corresponding to the checkered pattern to create a cluster of smaller volumes, each with a pitched roof. Ochre-colored slabs extending from the office landscape on the second-floor and the kura-like HVAC cores alternate on the elevation. Instead of a cold, overbear-ing facade or a faceless backside turned toward the town-scape, all sides of the building are designed with a restrained openness, presenting an exterior that is porous and harmoni-ous with the human scale of its surroundings.景観と呼応する家型と屋根の集合体 周辺には住宅地が広がり、伝統家屋や神社なども点在し、敷地の隣には黒板塀と瓦屋根の倉庫も残っています。そこで、周辺の景観やスケール感と調和するよう、市松平面に合わせた複数の小さなヴォリュームの集合体で外観を構成し、各々に勾配屋根を架けました。2階のオフィスランドスケープから連続する黄土色のスラブと蔵のような設備コアが、立面に交互に現れます。街並みに対して無機質で威圧的な顔や、背を向けるような裏面はなく、全方位に対して適度な開放感をもち、ポーラスで周辺と調和したヒューマンスケールな外観としています。23Photography｜1: 野田東徳［雁光舎］／Harunori Noda [Gankohsha]｜2–3： 永禮 賢／Satoshi Nagare断面図｜Section, scale 1: 700152020 SUMMER43Feature | WORKS
