Precautions During ConstructionOne type of fungus found in dust can cause severe respiratory infection to people who are immunocompromised. Special care must be taken during remodeling or renovation work in a hospital to ensure total containment of dust, by strict hygiene practices, ventilation, and separating the paths. ─Development of Technology and “Visualization”Today, the development of numerical flow simulation tech-nology has made possible visualization of the distribution of temperature, humidity, airflow, and concentration of pathogens inside hospital rooms. This enables gathering of evidence from the early stages of the hospital design process to create safer airflows. It facilitates design and operation of hospital rooms while placing high priority on patient safety as well as reduction of the risk of airborne infections for health-care professionals ［3］.
