旧本社ビルの継承と現代を表象する2つのタワー皇居側に建つ三井物産ビルは、日本の伝統的な木組みをモチーフとした横基調のデザイン、Otemachi Oneタワーは垂直線を強調する現代的なデザインとして、2棟を対峙させました。三井物産ビルは柱型の出ないアウトフレーム、眺望を活かす横連窓、透け感のあるロールスクリーンなどを採用し、旧本社ビルの革新的な設計思想を継承しています。一方、東側に建つOtemachi Oneタワーは、上層階の五つ星ホテル、その下の1,100坪を超すメガプレートのオフィスで構成し、コアを三井物産ビルの幅に揃えることで、皇居への眺望を確保しています。低層部の商業施設やホテルバンケット、三井物産ビル3階の大手町三井ホールなどの機能によって、新たな賑わい創出が期待されています。Towers Honoring the Past and Symbolizing TodayThe MITSUI & CO. Building on the Imperial Palace side of the site has a horizontal design motif inspired by traditional wood-frame architecture while Otemachi One Tower’s modern style emphasizes verticality. The MITSUI & CO. Building carries on the innovative design concept of the former Head Office with its column-free outer frame, panoramic hori-zontal ribbon windows, and translucent roll screens. Otemachi One, on the east side, has approximately 3,600-square-meter mega-plate office floors topped by the guest rooms of a five-star hotel. The building core is aligned to afford unobstructed views of the Imperial Palace grounds. Commercial facilities and banquet space on the tower’s lower floors, along with Otemachi Mitsui Hall on the third floor of the MITSUI & CO.
