An overall authorization plan was followed, which allowed for gradu-al conformation to the conditions established by revisions to Building Standard Law. Long-term renovation plans to enhance the building’s value through construction and to continue existing projects were also drawn up. In keeping with the repeal of former Article 38, improvements are being made to obtain government approval. Systematic plans are in place for reinforcing the structural seismic damping of elevators and escalators to improve their seismic resistance and work to achieve compliance with fire prevention laws has been completed.1: 鉄骨造による大屋根(長さ140m×幅90m、高さ25m)の無柱空間。地上部エキスパンションジョイントで既存ビルと構造的に分離し、大屋根を支える柱の位置は、既存躯体を補強しやすく、かつ設備更新などの影響が少ない合理的な箇所を選定した。また、大屋根新築に伴い、長周期地震対応と耐震性の向上のため制振補強を実施。既存の設備バルコニーを利用し、2階に配置した制振ダンバーと3-49階のチューンロッド(制振柱)を連続的につなぐことで建物の動きと連動してエネルギーを吸収する制振システムを採用。ビル外装やオフィス執務空間にまったく影響を与えない、居ながらの制振改修工事を実現した。1 : Column-free space has been created under a huge steel structured roof. Movement joints were used above ground so the roof could be structurally independent. Roof-supporting columns were strategically positioned to reinforce the existing frame and also have minimal e ect on facility renewal and other activity. In addition, with the construction of the roof, seismic retro tting was performed to enable better handling of long-period earthquake ground motion and improve vibration control.
