Phoogaphytrit｜mnwowThis project is for the development of the site of the former Long Hua International Airport, where Nikken Sekkei has long been involved in urban design. Straddling the park created along the 1.5-kilometer former runway are four buildings whose lower floors sweep out with skirt-like struc-tures sheltering semi-outdoor spaces. The layout and shapes of the structures sim-ulate the feel of the prevailing winds that blow along the nearby Huangpu River.
