Phoogaphytr|野田東徳[雁光舎]/Harunori Noda [Gankohsha]This hub of innovation was built on the site of a former Bridgestone plant in Tokyo’s western suburb of Kodaira. Functions for R&D that had been scattered in and outside the site were consolidated and rebuilt for use at the new facility. The distinctive exterior makes functional elements such as solar shading, equipment balconies, and evacuation routes clearly visible. The objective of the project was to create new value in mobility for Bridgestone, a company that has long contributed to mobility development, by aiming not only for an efficient space but also one that enables richer experiences of mobility. We accomplished this through the installation of three-dimensionally connected atrium spaces and other features that imbue the building with a sense of continuity and fluidity. Innovation Hub Connects in a Rich Space Designed for Mobility
