NIKKEN SEKKEI URBANISMCORPORATE124 _ 125GLOBAL ACTIVITIESWith broad thinking, a wide and deep body of experience and a broad skillset, in conjunction with Nikken Sekkei’s general expansion into other markets, Nikken’s Urban Planning and Design team has expanded its activities with the sincere consideration that the solutions and approaches taken to many of Japan’s urban challenges can be positively made use of to the benefit of other locations and populations living in urban areas. We have focused in the rst instance on other countries and regions in relatively close proximity, both in locality and in terms of challenges and opportunities faced. As we share our experiences and apply our lessons learned, we continue to grow and learn about the importance of place, culture and context, what brings people together to live in urban environments and how we can have a positive inuence on the quality of life within those urban environments.
