Town/ Rehabilitating the ground surface敷地内に生育していたクスノキとケヤキの大径木は、美術館入口部分に移植活用して、地域の緑のシンボルとして再生利用。The thick-trunked camphor and zelkova trees that grew on the site have been moved to stand near the museum entrance, where the are reused as a symbol of the area’s greenery.22Reclaiming lost greenery serves toenhance the urban environment.Using rooftop planting and artificialground to restore green environmentthat has been lost in the cours of urbandevelopment and land reclamationbrings back habitats for wild birds andinsects, returning nature to the urbanenvironment.Bring history and greenery back to city centers through redevelopmentIzumi GardenIn urban areas the loss of existing vegetation is a situation that occurs frequentlyin a development project. Along the east side of the redevelopment complex runsOnemichi, a road which retains the vestiges of Edo-era samurai mansions and is thesite of the Sumitomo Kaikan garden, is lined with trees reminiscent of Musashino,providing habitat for wild birds. As a precious scrap of nature left in the city center, itformed a peaceful district. We left the original slope of the land in place, andregenerated the vegetation on it, in order to retain the wonderful atmosphere of thearea and build an attractive district. On the stepped slopes of the site, we created pedestrian spaces called "urbancorridors," linked by stairs and escalators and interspersed with foliage and clusters ofshops of special character. Now, people commuting by subway and local people usingthe station, can move pleasantly and safely. We aim to make this district a "21st-century town," in which advanced officebuildings and a residential environment of urban vitality and abundant nature coexistamid the foliage that existed in the area before.Kiyoshi Sakurai再開発で都心に歴史と緑を蘇らせる泉ガーデン都市部では、開発で既存の緑がなくなっていく事態が頻繁に発生しています。この複合再開発プロジェクトの東側を走る、江戸期の武家屋敷の面影を継承する緑溢れる「尾根道」沿いは、武蔵野の面影を残す樹木が植生し、野鳥の棲家となっていて、都心に残された貴重な小自然として静かな街並みを形成していました。この素晴らしい雰囲気を残して、自然と賑わいが調和した魅力的な街づくりを実現するため、従来からある斜面をそのまま残して、そこに緑を復活させました。この段丘状の斜面の部分には、歩行者通路として「アーバンコリドール」と呼ぶ階段とエスカレーターによる空間を設け、途中に緑と特色のある店舗群を配しました。こうすることで、通勤する人々や地元の方々が地下鉄を利用する際に、改札口広場から地上の緑と朝日を望むことができるとともに、気持ちよく安全に移動できるようになりました。このまちは、既存の緑を生かし、都市の賑わいと自然が溢れる住環境と、先端的なオフィスが調和する「２１世紀型の街」を目指しています。櫻井　潔失われた緑を取り戻すことは、まちの環境改善に役立ちます。都市開発や埋立地などで失われがちな緑環境を、屋上緑化や人工地盤の緑化によって、復活させることで、野鳥や虫などの自然の息吹を再生させ、まちに自然を取り戻すことができます。まち/地表面を回復する環境親話2006まちから建築へ　日建設計―FACT－NIKKEN SEKKEI
