光ダクトシステムで輝く地下食堂The light duct system makes the underground canteen sparkle.地上の採光部。ここから取り込まれた太陽光は、光伝送ダクトによって地下食堂に導かれる。Light collectors above ground. How the light ducts work to draw light down to the underground canteen.地下食堂にまで太陽光をトヨタ自動車新事務本館環境配慮への先駆的な取り組みを実現しているリーディングカンパニーの本社として、世界トップレベルの環境性能を実現したサステナブル建築です。地下の従業員食堂へは、地上部に設けた開口部から自然光を取り込み、高効率の光伝送ダクトによって側面採光を行い、あたかも地上にいるかのような明るく清潔な食堂空間を実現しました。基準階には、南北に面した２つのウイングに執務スペースを設け、中央に配置したエレベータと執務スペースとの間の「バーティカルビレッジ」と称した吹き抜け空間に階段を設けました。この吹抜け空間は、従業員同士のコミュニケーションを活発化すると共に、交互に南北に配置することにより、煙突効果を効率よく活用した自然換気システムにもなっています。この他、導入したさまざまな最先端の環境負荷削減技術を、建築と調和のとれた「環境デザイン」として実現しています。土屋　潔建築/自然環境と対話する/光・自然採光Sunlight to the underground canteenToyota Motor Coporation Head OfficeAs the headquarters of a company which leads the way inenvironment-oriented efforts, this sustainable building attains theworld's top level of environmental performance.Natural light for the underground staff canteen is captured throughopenings above ground, carried through highly efficient light ducts,and delivered from the side, making a bright and clean dining spacethat feels as if it is above ground.The typical floors have office space in two wings, north andsouth, and the staircases are situated in an atrium, dubbed the“vertical village,”between the offices and the central elevators.
