32FACT NIKKEN SEKKEI 構造デザインの最前線Projects involving specialized structures such as advanced scientific technology facilities, distribution facilities, and factories present unique challenges and often demand micrometer-level precision. With its accumulated expertise, Nikken Sekkei is able to realize advanced and highly functional structures at low costs. The vital importance of creating a society resistant to seismic hazards became apparent following the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. In keeping with this goal, the experimental facility described below was constructed to scientifically analyze the pro-cess by which a full-scale building collapses. In addition to making use of other forms of advanced technology, it employs a powerful 3D shaking table to conduct fracture experiments. The Science of Structural Collapse E-Defense is a research facility for conducting experiments on the aseismic capacities of buildings using a device known as a "shaking table." The letter "E" in this case stands for "Earth." The shaking table is used to send vibrations through a test building to simulate the effects of a real earthquake. Due to its massive capacity, the table has the power to shake a test building of up to 1,200 tons, and tests involving both horizontal and vertical movement are pos-sible. In addition, this shaking table is the world's largest example of test equipment used for verifying the aseismic capacity of build-ings by reproducing long-period ground motion. When beginning this project, there were no prototypes for facilities used to conduct aseismic research. Before work com-menced on E-Defense, we presented numerous proposals with the aim of realizing a facility that would allow test buildings to be securely constructed, transported, experimented upon, and mea-sured for the variety of experiments that would take place follow-ing completion of the facility.A Truly Massive FoundationTo securely use the shaking table as a mechanical device, the foun-実験棟計測制御棟次造成ライン +震動台実験室震動台震動台基礎 容積: 重量:tクレーン(基)独立行政法人防災科学技術研究所兵庫耐震工学研究センターE-ディフェンスMeeting Unprecedented Design Conditions前例のない設計条件に対応するNational Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster PreventionHyogo Earthquake Engineering Research Center "E-Defense"
