However, like any new, fast-growing urban area, Gurugram is also finding its own personality and uniqueness. The Nikken Sekkei masterplan, designed in partnership with Buchan, aimed for an identity that attempts to restore the public realm. By integrating the existing Light Rail Transit (LRT) station and connecting neighbouring developments with walkable skybridges, easy access and human-scale “walkability” were achieved. The project aims at defining a new method of integrating mixed-use facilities through activity hubs and curated urban landscapes. The mixed-use office, retail and hospitality buildings offer a series of activity hubs - The Portal, The Terraces, and The Downtown Plaza – that are created to provide an exciting, liveable, work-friendly, mutually connected entertaining environment.
