広州図書館は、350万冊を開架閲覧するという、世界でも例の少ない大型市民図書館です。市民に対して「開かれた」構成とすると共に、「生活の一部として楽しく利用できる」やわらかく動的なイメージのデザインとしました。内部動線もシースルーエレベータやエスカレータを中心とした、開放的で利用者にとって分かりやすいシステムとしています。The Guangzhou Library is a public library of unprecedented scale, built to house open stacks for 3.5 million volumes. The design composition evokes a soft but dynamic image that is both open to the people and an enjoyable part of everyday life.
