日建設計創業の契機となるプロジェクトの改修Repairs to Nikken Sekkei Founding Project二本柳法生｜日建設計 設計部門岡野博紀／田辺慎吾｜日建設計 エンジニアリング部門Norio Nihonyanagi｜Architectural Design Department, Nikken SekkeiHiroki Okano / Shingo Tanabe｜Engineering Department, Nikken Sekkei三井住友銀行大阪本店ビル｜大阪市中央区｜2015Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Osaka Head Office｜Chuo-ku, Osaka｜2015三井住友銀行大阪本店ビルは、旧住友本社と住友銀行、住友連系各社が入居するビルとして大正から昭和の初めにかけて建設された、築約85年の建物です。工事は2期に分けられ、1926（大正15）年の第1期工事竣工に続き、1930（昭和5）年に第2期工事が竣工しました。その設計は、住友合資会社に創設された工作部が行い、設計から工事の監督まですべてを担当しました。この工作部は後に長谷部・竹腰建築事務所となり、日建設計の礎を築くこととなります。　この建物はこれまでに何度か改修と増築が行われてきました。近年になって建替え等の検討もされてきましたが、今般抜本的な改修をすることになり、最終的には外観等の意匠はそのまま残しながら今の建物を現代のニーズに合わせて改修し、今後も大阪本店ビルとして使い続けるとの決断がなされました。The Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Osaka Head Office, now about 85 years old, was constructed in 1930 to house the former Sumitomo Corporation head office and the Sumitomo Bank as well as Sumitomo-affiliated companies. Built in two phases, the first completed in 1926 and the second in 1930, the building was designed by an engineering division set up within the Sumitomo Limited Partnership Corporation, which also undertook supervision of the construction. This division later became the Hasebe Takekoshi Architectural Office and later Nikken Sekkei.The building was renovated and expanded a number of times, but finally it was decided that radical renovation and repairs were needed.
