2：ダイビル本館（旧 大阪ビルヂング）｜2013Daibiru-Honkan Building(former Osaka Building)Nakanoshima Library and the Osaka City Hall is a promenade lined with zelkova trees that have been growing since the completion of the promenade 30 years ago. On the opposite bank of the Tosabori is the dock of the Aqualiner water bus that carries visitors from Osaka castle to Nakanoshima, so this area has become an attractive sightseeing spot.● Nakanoshima Festival TowerThe view from the pedestrian-only Nishiki Bridge across the river (see photo 8, p. 23). The “Fauns Enjoying Music” wall relief that symbolizes the old Festival Hall stands out clearly on the large brick wall, restored in rich color and durable materials using state-of-the-art ceramic technology. Amateur painters can often be found sketching here, capturing this scene that excites their artistic urges.● Foot of the Daido Life Insurance Osaka Headquarters This building was designed to appear to be standing on one large foot. The Gothic-style rib vaults, along with the statue by Antoine Bourdelle, give energy and uplift to this street corner.● Daibiru-Honkan StreetscapeThe photo shows the outdoor café terrace at the front of the building in the evening.
