As a facility to replace Nitori Culture Hall, the city’s only large-scale theater until then, we planned a high-performance theater with 2,302 seats equipped to host full-scale performing arts produc-tions such as operas and ballets. Making visibility a priority, the seating area was divided into blocks, and each block designed with rakes calculated to produce the best sight lines. Three layers of balconies placed to surround the stage are designed to shorten the distance to the stage and bring the audience a rich and immediate experience of the per-formance. Experiments using models and audio simulations were used to determine the exact shapes and angles for the ceiling sound reflectors, walls and the balcony to achieve clear and pow-erful acoustics. The result is an acoustical space to rival any con-cert hall for musical performances. 視えることと聴こえることを追求した劇場 札幌文化芸術劇場「hitaru」は、関東より北に位置する地域では初の、多面舞台（舞台の左右奥に同等の大きさの空間をもつ舞台）のホールです。市内唯一の大型劇場であったニトリ文化ホール（2018年9月閉館）の後継施設として、本格的なオぺラやバレエなどの舞台芸術が実施可能な、2,302席の高機能劇場を計画しました。　見やすさを最優先とした客席は、分節されたブロックごとに最適な視線勾配や床勾配を割り出して設計。舞台を包み込むように配置した3層のバルコニーは、舞台との距離を縮め、高揚感溢れる濃密な体験をもたらす劇場空間となっています。また、模型実験と音響シミュレーションで、天井反射板や壁、バルコニーの形状や角度を決定することで、明瞭で迫力ある音が実現。コンサート時には、可動型音響反射板と第一天井反射板により形成されるコンサートシェルが、コンサート専用のホールに劣らない音響空間をつくりあげます。視えることと聴こえることを追求した劇場は、舞台と客席の一体感をより一層強め、優れた舞台芸術の鑑賞にふさわしい空間となっています。1122019 SPRING38SPOTLIGHT
