Photography｜1：エスエス／SS｜2：新建築社写真部／Shinkenchiku-sha「大樹」と「ダイヤグラム」──都市再生を促すデザインコンセプト “Great Tree” and “Diagram”: Solid Design Concepts to Bring Forth Urban Renewal岡田耕治／伊藤佐恵／見杉亮誠／鳥海宏太 Koji Okada / Sae Ito / Katsunari Misugi / Kota Toriumi日建設計 設計部門 Architectural Design Department, Nikken Sekkei松崎愛彦 Naruhiko Matsuzaki│日建設計 ソリューショングループ Facility Solution Group, Nikken Sekkei木村征也 Seiya Kimura│日建設計 エンジニアリング部門 Engineering Department, Nikken Sekkei本プロジェクトは、エリア最大級のフロア面積をもつ高さ100mの超高層オフィス、本社ビルとしてのシンボル性を備えつつ地域のランドマークとなる造形、駅を中心とした歩行者ネットワークの再構築という、3つの大きな命題のもとにスタートしました。これらを同時に解くために、「鉄道駅構内等開発計画に関する指導基準」「総合設計制度」「一団地認定」を最大限に活用し、鉄道上空にデッキを架けてその上に建築を建てるという手法を採りました。この「鉄道を跨ぐ超高層建築」という構想は、やがて池袋に立つ「大樹」というコンセプトへとつながっていきました。 A great tree is visible from afar, offering with its shade and stalwart trunk a place of rest and refuge, and for those who climb up it, fine vistas. Moreover, we sought a composition in which the structure itself would form the design. The podium representing the “trunk” of the tree is com-posed of massive V-shaped columns of a scale substan-tial enough to match the trains that pass through them. The exterior skin of the upper floors̶the “branches” and “leaves”̶is composed of slender members, expressing the lightness and airiness of the brace frame while offering extensive vistas from within.This project began with three major missions: to design a 100-meter high-rise building featuring offices with the largest floor plates available in the area, to create a local landmark and a company headquarters endowed with symbolism, and to rebuild the station-centered pedestrian networks. To address all the issues, we used to best advantage the guidelines for Development Plans for Railroad Station Premises and the Collective Approval Process, in the Comprehensive Design System. We chose the approach of straddling the railroad with a deck and building on top of it, and that led to the “Great Tree” idea.　大樹とは、どこにいても見ることができ、近くへ寄ればその木陰や幹に寄り添って憩うことができ、登れば遠くを見渡せる存在です。さらに、質実な構造体がそのまま造形になるような構成を考えました。　幹にあたる低層部は、土木スケールの頑強なV字柱とし、通過する電車と共存する重厚さを表現しました。豊かに茂る枝葉にあたる上部の外皮は、軽快なブレース架構のあらわしとし、オフィス内部からのビューも意識してスレンダーな部材で構成しました。　また同時に「ダイヤグラム（列車運行図表）」をデザインモチーフとして、ブレース架構のパターンを構造的な合理性とともにスタディし、1102019 SUMMER39SPOTLIGHT
