Photography｜エスエス／SSThe Challenge of a Pure and Honest Exterior In the typical steel frame high-rise building, the structural frame is fireproofed, then clad with some finishing material that forms the exterior design of the building. For this building’s exterior we sought to break with that norm, developing design details with which the design of the building reflected the structure in plain, unadorned form. The exterior design of the office tower features cross bracing to handle the short-term lateral load with exterior braces and the interior structure uses only columns and beams. This enabled us to leave the hot-dipped galvanized finish of the exterior bracing without fireproofing, making the building maintenance free for the long term and alleviating the maintenance difficulties that come with railroad facilities. The brace structure, evoking the lines of a railway network diagram, projects the identity of the design. 純粋無垢な外装への挑戦 純鉄骨造高層建築の外装では、一般的に構造体に耐火被覆を施し、それを意匠デザインである仕上材で覆います。この建物の外装ではそれを正面から打ち破りたいと考え、構造躯体を無垢なあらわしのまま建物の意匠とすることをコンセプトとしました。　オフィスタワー部の外装デザインは、室内側の構造体を柱・梁のみ、外部の構造体を外殻耐震ブレースのみで生み出したことが特徴です。外殻耐震ブレースを無耐火被覆・溶融亜鉛メッキのままとしたことは、長期間にわたるメンテナンスフリー化にもつながり、鉄道という条件による保守の困難さを大幅に軽減しています。モチーフであるダイヤグラム（列車運行図表）を表現した構造躯体が、建物のデザインそのもののアイデンティティとなりました。12122019 SUMMER39SPOTLIGHT
