[ファシリテーター:長谷川 巌]For corporations, securing branding, hiring capable workers, and updating the office environment are urgent matters that merit introduction of well-being concepts and IoT. In the real estate market, envi-ronmental investment and stock management are considered important, meanwhile, forecasts indicate an uptick in CSV-based business activities. We held a discussion titled “Creating Shared Values for the Office Environment” to examine ways building environments and building service technologies can respond to these social issues. Through the lecture, we gained a systematic appreciation for the reasons the “wellness office” came into existence in response to social changes generated by corporate strategies. The new organi-zational model is a mechanism that enables workers who are closest to the market, or people in organiza-tions who have direct customer contact, to complete their missions autonomously. Mobile offices, satellite offices, co-working spaces, and ABW offices support this organizational model. ABW has a close relation-ship to the concept of well-being, and information technologies such as IoT and AI connect people and support the comfort and health of mind and body. The lecture provided a great opportunity to present leading examples of domestic and international workplaces and work styles, and to think about our own work styles and the horizons ahead of us. [Facilitator: Iwao Hasegawa]Changing Organizational Models in Rethinking the Japanese Office Work style reform has led to the creation of autonomous management organization based on the scenario of “creating shared value” (CSV). In this model, supportive leaders give instructions in methodology without issuing orders; workers complete their missions autonomously. As these changes bring about new styles of work, the time has come to create offices that respond to the new mod-els. Lifetime employment is a foreign concept to the young generation of Japanese workers today. They want to choose their own path in life. What kind of workspace is necessary to recruit and retain these smart, young brains and help them maintain corporate strength? ─New Office DesignsIn the new era of CSV, face-to-face communication plays a vital role. Innovation is generated by meeting and interact-ing with a variety of people. With shared eating and drink-ing opportunities so important to communication, office cafes and employee cafeterias are being rediscovered; office vegetable gardens and kitchens have proved friendly conver-sation venues. Connections among healthy people generate new business value, so maintaining health is key. To support healthy worker minds and bodies, office improvements based on well-being concepts are sought to allow people to work while moving their bodies, for greening the office interior, and for comforts using IoT control.─Leaders in “Creating Shared Values”Being able to work in a safe, healthy, and fun office with others̶this is the essence of how workers want to work. From now on, people involved in management, such as plan-ning, finance and HR, ought to be actively engaged with man-agement and operation of facilities, offices, and buildings. When work allows people to freely choose how they work, it can generate new communities and values, and newly generated value will be cycled back to the business. This may not take place inside the office alone but may happen in the surrounding city as well. Activity Based Working (ABW), which began in Holland and is spreading around the world, allows the workers to select the time and place for work; with the aid of technologies such as IoT, it turns offices into cities, or one might say cities into offices. 332019 AUTUMN40FORUM
