Location : Busan, Republic of KoreaTotal oor area : 4,790m2Nikken Sekkei韓国初の経済基盤型都市再生事業として、韓国政府と釜山市が国費390億韓国ウォンを投資した都市文化広場造成計画です。国際オープンコンペで当選しました。スタートアップやコワーキングのためのスペース、ショールームや観光支援施設などからなり、既存の釜山駅駅前広場と空間、動線、視線がつながる新しい立体広場として計画しました。人や情報を集め、周辺地域へ活気を与える今後の釜山の旧都心地域の再生計画の拠点として、隣接する釜山港移転跡地再開発と一体的に計画しました。将来、ヨーロッパとアジアを結びつける物流、文化、人が集まるプラットフォームとなることを目指しています。Nikken Sekkei’s involvement in this project began with the winning of an open inter-national competition to design Korea’s first economy-based urban renewal project. This urban cultural plaza project has received KRW39 billion in public funding from the central government and the city of Busan. Composed of spaces for startups and co-working plus showrooms and a tourist support center, the Busan station plaza was re-envisaged as a new dynamic facility con-nected to the station spatially, visually and through clear vertical and horizontal circu-lation routes.
