歴史を継承し新しく生まれ変わる百貨店A New Lease on Life for a Historic Department Store大丸心斎橋店 本館 Daimaru Shinsaibashi Store Main Buildingウィリアム・メレル・ヴォーリズが設計した、百貨店・大丸心斎橋店の本館の建替計画です。創建当初の姿を留める外壁を保存するとともに、意匠的価値の高い内装部位を採取・再利用し、空間イメージを継承しました。また、都市再生特別地区による制度を活用して、道路上空の各階を売場で北館と接続し、両館の連携と心斎橋地区の回遊性を飛躍的に高めました。The original main building of Osaka’s historic Daimaru Department Store in Shinsaibashi was designed by W. M. Vorles. This project was the rebuilding and expan-sion upward of the department store, pre-serving the exterior walls and a number of elements of the building’s artfully designed interior saved and reused to retain a sense of the original spatial ambience.
