熊本城を北に臨む日本最大級のバスターミナルの再整備を中心に、商業・文化・宿泊・住居機能を複合した大型施設です。城に向かう歩行者通りや細川家の広大な「陽春庭」跡に位置する花畑公園・広場などの公共空間と一体に計画したひな壇状の屋上庭園が、熊本城と視覚的につながり、まちの歴史と人々の動き・活動を結びつける中心的役割を果たすことを目指しました。This large-scale mixed-use project near the famous Kumamoto Castle, that combines commercial, cultural, lodging and resi-dential functions, has at its core one of the largest bus terminal facilities in Japan. An extensive terraced roof garden was planned taking into consideration the significant historic and public spaces including the nearby pedestrian street stretching towards the castle and traditional gardens and pla-zas, to become part of that visual network.
