The event will showcase exhibits in themed areas including “Environmentally Friendly Manufacturing and Energy,” “Innovation for Accelerating SDG Progress,” and “Experiencing Cutting-Edge Technology Designed to Address Regional Challenges.” As a member of the Himeji Walkable Council, Nikken Sekkei helps drive urban development in which people and robots work jointly both aboveground and under-ground. We also seek to ease criteria for road-occupancy permits, drawing on our expertise in developing pedestrian-friendly streets (hokomichi) through the establish-ment of cafes and other community spaces on roads. At the Expo, Nikken Sekkei will promote the uses of robots in SDG projects and daily life.日建設計、日建設計総合研究所、東邦ガス株式会社、住友商事マシネックス株式会社、株式会社アラヤは、AIで既存の地域冷暖房における課題を解決する「AI地域冷暖房（通称 AIちれい）」を開発しました。 地域冷暖房は、未利用エネルギーを活用しながら、地域の冷暖房用のエネルギーをまとめて製造し、複数の建物に供給することで、環境性・経済性・防災性を高められる都市インフラの重要なシステムです。2050年のカーボンニュートラル、脱炭素社会の実現に向け、CO2削減効果が見込める地域冷暖房は熱エネルギー分野で注目されています。2022年4月から、名古屋市栄三丁目北地区において「AIちれい」の実証実験を行っています。Nikken Sekkei Ltd, Nikken Sekkei Research Institute, Toho Gas Co. Ltd., Sumitomo Shoji Machinex Co. Ltd., and Araya Inc. have developed an AI-driven district heating and cooling system known as AI Chirei, which uses artificial intelligence to resolve issues in current district heating and cooling systems. Good district heating and cooling infrastructure can enhance environmental and economic efficiency as well as disaster-prevention capability by collectively generating energy for heating and cooling in a local area and supplying it to multiple buildings, utilizing unused energy. As we move toward achieving decarbonization and carbon neutrality by 2050, district heating and cooling is drawing more attention in the thermal-energy sector for its anticipated reduction of CO2 emissions.
