Phoogaphy｜1–4：Gerry O’Lea｜5–6：日建設計／Nikken Sekkery456triThis project is part of a plan to develop the roads, infrastructure, public spaces, buildings, and landscape for an urban economic subcenter. While roads and infrastructure are designed simultaneously, the realization of this unique structure required that numerous challenges be overcome before the client, design supervisors, and builders could unite behind the common objective: to establish a new standard for architectural design in Saudi Arabia. Nikken Sekkei established a base in Riyadh and was stationed onsite during the supervision phase. While always onsite for design supervision, Nikken Sekkei was able to clearly present the design intent (design drawings and specifications) to the client and contractor. We were able to build a relationship of trust by constantly discussing mutual issues and objectives as a team, and that practice became the driving force for comprehensive solutions based on mutual understanding. These efforts resulted in a high-quality building that is recognized as premium tenant real estate in Saudi Arabia.17本プロジェクトは、エリア内道路・インフラ・パブリックスペース・各建築とランドスケープのすべてを一気に開発する経済副都心建設計画の一環です。道路やインフラも同時進行で建設されるなか、この特殊な構造体を実現するにあたって、施主、設計監理者、施工者が、「サウジアラビアのニュースタンダードをつくり上げる」という、ひとつの目的で結びつくまでには数々の苦難を乗り越える必要がありました。日建設計はリヤドに拠点を立ち上げ、監理段階では現場に常駐しています。設計監理者として、現場で設計意図（設計図・仕様書）の到達点をクライアントや施工者に明確に示し、「One Team」としてお互いの抱える課題や目的を常に話し合う信頼関係を構築したことが、相互理解のうえ総合的な解決を行う原動力となりました。その努力が、サウジアラビアで最高のプレミアムテナントビルとして認められる高品質の建築へと結実しています。厳しい工事環境で高品質を実現する現場のチーム力─ 監理の現場よりAchieving High Quality in a Challenging Construction Environment through Teamwork: From the Supervisory Standpoint
