配置図｜Layout planArchitecture Designed to Be Easy on Its SurroundingsThis is an area Nikken Sekkei has been helping to develop for over 10 years since being selected in a 2009 international competition. We planted greenery along the former airport runway to create a 1.5-kilometer-long park to function as the backbone of the neighborhood. More than 30 percent of the AI Tower site is made up of vacant land that is landscaped and open to the public. We connected those areas to the greenery of the runway park, creating a more pleasant living environment. We beauti-fied the entire industrial area that had been neglected following the closure of the airport, connecting it to the AI Tower site and riverfront. The project has increased the area’s aesthetic appeal and helped create a more eco-friendly urban environment.従前｜Before従後｜After開発エリア周辺の風、緑、光、水環境の概念図General layout and diagram showing prevailing winds, landscaping, light, and water environment1 : 河側からタワーを望む。2 : 従前の空港・産業区と緑豊かな再開発後の景観。3 : タワー翼下のナイトマーケット。1: View of the towers from the riverfront side.2 : The former airport and industrial zone (top) and greened landscape after redevelopment (bottom).3 : A night market beneath the extended facades.210100m10周辺環境にやさしい立ち方の建築日建設計は、2009年の国際コンペで設計者に選定されて以来、本エリアのまちづくりに10年以上取り組んできました。　旧滑走路を緑化して全長1.5kmの滑走路緑地公園をつくり、まちの骨格と位置付けました。AIタワーの敷地内は30％以上を空地として緑化し、人々のための公共空間として開放しています。滑走路公園の緑と連続させ居住快適度向上に寄与し、緑あふれるまちづくりを進めています。空港閉鎖後、荒れた工業地帯だったエリア一体を緑化して、本計画や川岸までつなぎ、風、緑、光、水を巧みに利用して都市環境全体を改善しています。
