Location : Takatsuki, Osaka Pref.Total floor area : 17,261 m2Nikken SekkeiThis community theater and cultural arts center occupies on the site where the Takatsuki Castle once stood. The themes of the design were integration with the surrounding park and circulation routes for pleasant strolling, creating a public space open and amenable to local citizens. The facility is divided into different parts: a large hall, small hall, and 11 studios of various sizes. This allows for an open space filled with light and greenery where visitors can come and go freely, as if they were strolling through a park. Wooden panels made with local Osaka Prefecture timber line the interior and exterior surfaces, making the theatre seem to merge with the surrounding landscape.高槻城公園芸術文化劇場 Takatsuki Arts Theatre04かつての高槻城跡に立つ、市民芸術文化劇場です。市民に開かれた公共空間をつくるため、「回遊性のある、公園と一体となった劇場」をキーワードとして設計しました。大ホール、小ホール、各種大中小スタジオ全11室を、それぞれ分節して計画することで、園内を散策するかのように自由に施設に出入りできる、光と緑があふれる開放的な空間となりました。内外装には、周辺の木立に溶け込むようにイメージした、大阪府産の木ルーバーを張り巡らせています。公園と一体となった公共建築をつくるPublic Architecture in a Park
