123 「歴史」「知」の集積を象徴する新たなランドマークA New Landmark Symbolizing the Compilation of History and Knowledge 同志社大学 今出川校地 新図書館建設工事京都市上京区｜2026年8月（予定）Doshisha University Imadegawa CampusNew Library ProjectKamigyo-ku, Kyoto | August 2026 (scheduled)惠本涼太郎／若江直生 Ryotaro Emoto / Naoki Wakae日建設計 設計監理部門 Architectural Design Department, Nikken Sekkei明治期から続くキャンパスにおける同志社創立150周年記念事業となる図書館の建て替え計画です。大学の誇る蔵書を建物中央の「Book Stacks」に集約配置し、吹き抜け空間「Knowledge Court」を介して周囲を閲覧室が取り囲む象徴的な空間構成とすることにより、「知」の集積を「見える化」します。将来の新機能整備に対応し得る可用性を確保しつつ、多様で魅力的な環境とう新たな図書館を目指します。外観はキャすることで学修者を誘ンパス内に複数現存する赤煉瓦の重要文化財建造物の意匠を継承しつつ、3つの煉瓦積みボリュームに分節することで建物スケールを調和させます。同志社の歴史を紡ぐ、新たなランドマークとなる建築を創出したいと考えています。This reconstruction of the library at the Imadegawa cam-pus of Doshisha University, which was established in the 1870s, was undertaken to commemorate the university’s 150th anniversary. The school’s prized book collection will be concentrated in the Book Stacks at the center of the building and surrounded by an atrium space (the Knowledge Court) with designated seats for reading. The spatial configuration visually represents the university’s accumulation of knowledge, with the books in clear view. Our aim is to create a library that students are drawn to for its diverse functions and interesting environment, and the design will ensure the facility can accommodate new functions in the future.
