The project will provide classrooms on the lower floors, laboratories on the upper floors, and a new space for student interaction on the fourth floor, which will be connected to the future Building 59. Building 52, designed by Professor Katsuo Ando, will be retained as a heritage structure. New cores will be con-structed on both sides of the building to continue its use during the expansion, creating a dynamic space without placing structural load on the upper portion.
