123trihPhoogaphy｜p. 101–3：石島邦彦／Kunma, iko Ishiji11p.10上: 蓄積リング棟外観。外装に断熱パネルを、目隠しパネルに角波鋼板を使用。ビームを模した水平基調のスリットが、施設特性を分かりやすく表現する。p.10下 : ライナック棟外観。外装にアルミカットパネルを使用。パンチング加工によって目地の存在感をなくすとともに、スリット周辺の孔径を変えて、ビームの動きを表現した。1 : 蓄積リング棟屋根。二重折板葺き、ガルバリウム鋼板素地仕上げ。温度応力の検討結果を踏まえ、リングの屋根架構はエキスパンションジョイントを設けない一体の美しい円形形状とした。2 : 蓄積リング棟内の実験ホール前廊下内観。3 : SF映画のワンシーンのようなエントランスホール（ライナック棟内）。親しみやすく、また次世代への期待感を抱けるデザインを目指した。装置の特徴をストレートに表した象徴的な外観建屋の独特な形状は、加速器のレイアウトそのものに由来しています。外観もその機能的で純粋な佇まいを活かしたシンプルな構成となるように努め、装飾や要素を極力減らしました。角波鋼板やパンチングメタルなどのシームレスな材料を徹底的に使うことで、装置の特徴をストレートに表した象徴的な外観を目指しました。Symbolic Exterior for Expressing the Facility’s CharacterThe building’s unique shape is derived from the layout of the accelerator itself. The exterior design reflects the functionality and simplicity of the accelerator, and efforts were made to minimize decorative or extraneous elements. Extensive use of seamless materials such as box profile steel sheets and perfo-rated metal helped to realize a symbolic exterior design that directly expresses the function of the facility.p. 10 (top): Exterior view of the storage ring building. The exterior utilizes insulated box profile steel cladding. The horizontal negative detail expressing the beam reflects the distinctive character of the facility.p. 10 (bottom): Exterior view of the linear accelerator. The building is clad with punched aluminium panels. The perforation pattern disguises the presence of joints, and the diameter of holes around the negative detail is changed to express the beam passing behind it.1 : Roof of the storage ring building. The roof features double-layered folded plates and a bare finish with Galvalume steel. Taking into account the results of a thermal stress analysis, the roof structure was designed to take an elegant circular shape, eliminating expansion joints.2 : Interior of the corridor in front of the experimentation hall in the storage ring building.3 : The entrance hall (inside the linear accelerator building) calls to mind a scene from a science fiction movie. The design seeks to be welcoming and familiar while at the same time inspiring a sense of excitement for the future.
