1Greenhouse gas emissions from buildings designed by Nikken Sekkei account for approximately 1% of Japan’s total emissions. We therefore issued a Climate Emergency Declaration in 2021. Following this, in 2022, we endorsed the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and in the same year, Many companies have set “net zero” goals and are starting to take concrete action. We hope that our proposals will support our clients and give birth to further collaborative action. This Sustainability Report, which we have been issuing since 2020, summarizes our environmental activities and the environmental performance initiatives incorpo-rated into our projects over a one year period. We are pleased to share our Sustainability Report 2023, compiled “Nikken Sekkei’s Six Proposals”.which summarizes our activities through the 2022 calendar year. Nikken Sekkei is committed to conserving and improving the environment with a proper understanding of the expectations of our clients and society. 1.
