�Nikken Sekkei Tokyo Building took the lead in introducing “Arc,” a tool to achieve sustainable building operations, and on April 26, 2022, received LEED Gold recertification in the O+M category. In August 2022, the building’s 7th floor renovation effort earned it the WELL Building Standard® Platinum certification, a performance-based system that focuses on health and wellness. Using the knowhow we have for acquiring certifications for an existing building, we will support the formation of environments, cities, and buildings that give due consideration to the well-being and environmental policies of building operators.Since ex-Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga’s 2020 carbon neutral declaration, “carbon” has become a popular topic on TV comedy shows, but the extent of its penetration into broader society is unclear. We subsequently held a seminar to introduce Nikken Sekkei’s carbon neutral technology to the governments, corporates and individuals. Approximately 700 people attended.In October 2022, we expressed our support for the recommendations of the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure) and subsequently disclosed climate change-related data on the Nikken Sekkei homepage. We believe that climate change is a challenge that should be addressed fully, in line with the Nikken Group tagline: “EXPERIENCE, INTEGRATED”.
