Rail Corridor Master Plan Receives Outstanding Award at 2017 ILFA Asia-Pac LA Awards

Nikken Sekkei Ltd as design leader of a multidisciplinary team for the Rail Corridor Master Plan in Singapore has received has received the International Federation of Landscape Architects (Asia Pacific) highest project accolade, an “Outstanding Award” for the analysis and master planning of Singapore’s Rail Corridor. The Plan is dubbed “Lines of Life” and spans the length of the nation, 24km north to south.
The IFLA award follows a 2015 winning international design competition entry to design a master plan for the rejuvenation of the public space that resulted from the decommissioning of part of the KTM railway once connecting Singapore and Malaysia. Following the competition, the design team also completed in February of 2017 the preliminary design of a first stage 4km section including public and stakeholder consultation and feedback.
An awards ceremony is to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on 4 November 2017.
