A Museum Open to Art, People & the City

Centered on the art collection of the late Shojiro Ishibashi*, and renamed from the former Bridgestone Museum of Art, the Artizon Museum yields a creative experience open to all forms of art, people and the city. Situated in the heart of Tokyo, the concept for the multi-floor facility called for a space akin to a three-dimensional alleyway, drawing on the Kyobashi area’s distinctive features. Visitors can enjoy both the cityscape and the art as naturally as taking a neighborhood stroll. People, art, and the city intermingle in this new “boundary landscape.”

*Shojiro Ishibashi (1889-1976): Founder of Nagasaka Sangyo KK, Ishibashi Foundation, and Bridgestone Corporation.
