Medical & Research Center for Cutting-Edge Cancer Care
Constructed on the campus of Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University, this project features cutting-edge BNCT (Boron Neutron Capture Therapy) technology, a minimally invasive treatment which is expected to help with cancers difficult to treat with surgery and radiation. The Center’s exterior was designed to be in harmony with the other campus buildings, with horizontal eaves and earth colors. Although safety from radiation was the top priority, calm hues, woody materials, and soft indirect lighting were adopted to create a convalescent space where patients can ease their anxiety and concentrate on their treatment.
