Akiteru Makino

Head of Nikken Sekkei’s Shenzhen Office; Director of Nikken Sekkei’s Shanghai Office. First-Class Architect (Japan).
After graduating from Tongji University, he studied in Japan and earned his Ph.D. from the Osaka University. After joining Nikken Sekkei, he worked in urban planning and design, and from around 2005, he participated in the development of major terminal stations and their surrounding areas in China.He led the editing and publication of *Integrated Station-Town Development: Building Next-Generation Public Transportation-Oriented Cities* (published in 2014), advocating for the integration of urban planning and transportation planning. He has participated in large-scale integrated station-town development projects such as Guangzhou Baiyun Station (formerly Tangxi Station) and Shenzhen Xili Station.
