Regarding the general handling of personal information at the Nikken Group

The Nikken Group is aware of its responsibility to respect personal information and to properly protect and control such information. Based on our recognition of this, we will observe the following policies, comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information in Japan and other relevant laws and regulations, and strive to protect personal information.

(1)	Personal Information is any information about a person that enables identification of a specific person, including their name, date of birth, address, telephone number, or email address or the like (including information that easily can be referenced with other information, and make it possible to identify a specific person by using that information, although it would not be possible to identify the person using that information alone).
(2)	The acquisition of personal information will be conducted using appropriate means.
(3)	We will use obtained personal information within the scope of the purpose of use stated at the acquisition source.
(4)	Personal information will not be provided or disclosed to any third party, except when any one of the following applies. • When consent has been obtained from the subject of the personal information • When disclosure is based on or permitted by laws and regulations
(5)	Personal data may be used jointly within the Nikken Group for business activities, or the like.
(6)	When outsourcing the handling of personal information, we will select the appropriate outsourced contractor, clarify the obligations and responsibilities of the outsourced contractor by contract or similar agreement, and appropriately supervise them so that personal information is safely controlled by the outsourced contractor.
(7)	We will fully recognize the dangers of unauthorized access, loss, destruction, falsification, and leakage, and the like of personal information that we have obtained or are about to obtain, implement reasonable safety measures, and take appropriate corrective measures in the event that any problem occurs.
(8)	We will respond appropriately to any inquiries from the subject of the personal information regarding the disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or to consult about complaints regarding personal information we have obtained.
(9)	We will comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding personal information. Furthermore, we will establish an internal system to protect personal information. We will also review and improve this system whenever it is necessary.
