Sustainability Message
Nikken Sekkei’s mission is to pass on a sustainable society to future generations.
To date, drawing on our specialized expertise in architecture and urban planning as well as our design capabilities, we have tackled numerous uncharted social challenges and contributed to the sustainable development of society.
These achievements have earned us the trust of society and have also led to our own sustainable growth.
We define a sustainable society as “one that regenerates the global environment while maintaining the economic and social infrastructure necessary for people to continue living prosperous lives, and one that does not compromise the choices available to future generations.”
To achieve this, we tackle increasingly complex social challenges through “Social and Environmental Design,” which integrates diverse expertise, technologies, and cultural insights.
In particular, as experts in the fields of urban planning and architecture, we take the climate crisis caused by these issues very seriously and are actively working to decarbonize buildings throughout their entire life cycles,
enhancing urban resilience, expanding green infrastructure, and conserving biodiversity.
To continue fulfilling our social responsibilities over the long term and achieve these goals, it is essential that we ourselves remain an ethical and sound organization.
We position ESG as a management foundation that integrates value creation through our business activities with our responsibility to society.
We will comprehensively advance our Environmental (E), Social (S), and Governance (G) initiatives and communicate them clearly.
To ensure that all of Nikken Sekkei’s business activities contribute to the realization of a sustainable society, we will combine a global perspective with a deep understanding of local communities,
and through co-creation with diverse stakeholders, we will advance value creation aimed at realizing a sustainable social environment.
