human rights

At Nikken Sekkei, we regard human rights as one of our top management priorities and are implementing various initiatives based on the following human rights policy.

"Our company respects human rights."

In a company where “people” are its greatest asset, human rights issues form the foundation of our management, and we regard addressing these issues as one of our top management priorities.
By ensuring that every employee respects human rights in all aspects of our business activities, we contribute to the development of a sustainable society.

Implementation Framework

With regard to human rights policies and issues, planning, deliberation, and implementation are carried out by the Company-wide Human Rights Awareness Promotion Liaison Committee, which is chaired by President and CEO and includes representatives from all departments. The Human Rights Awareness Promotion Office is responsible for implementing various initiatives, such as training and disseminating the latest information throughout the company. Additionally, serving as a compliance consultation and reporting channel, the Compliance Officer and other designated personnel, as well as external organizations, accept reports and strive to establish processes for the prevention, correction, and redress of human rights violations.

Education and Training

Throughout the year, we regularly conduct employee training and awareness-raising activities on human rights issues through initiatives such as human rights training sessions and contests for human rights slogans, followed by awards ceremonies.

② Nikken Group Human Rights Slogan

In Japan, the Ministry of Justice takes the lead in designating December 4 through 10 of each year as “Human Rights Week,” during which human rights awareness campaigns are held nationwide. As part of this initiative—similar to efforts carried out by local governments, companies, and educational institutions—Nikken Sekkei also holds a “Human Rights Slogan Contest.”With the aim of promoting human rights and fostering a healthy workplace environment, this initiative provides employees with opportunities to proactively reflect on human rights issues, deepen their understanding of diversity and inclusion, and ultimately enhance communication and employee engagement.
Every year, we solicit human rights slogans from all Group executives and employees, select outstanding entries from among them, and present awards.
