Yuki Watanabe

In 1994, after graduating from the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, she joined Nikken Sekkei. Her specialty is architectural design. She holds a First-Class Architect license and a childcare worker certification.
The types of buildings she has worked on are diverse, including the Takane Municipal Shirakaba Daycare Center (2001), the Izumiya Hakuko Museum (2002), the Rock Belay Building (2004),City Tower Sapporo Odori (2007). Following her return to work after giving birth, she was in charge of Building No. 3 at Josai University’s Tokyo Kioicho Campus (2013), the Yamato Konan Building (2019), the Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura (2020), the SMBC Shimbashi Building (2020), and the Ginsen Nishi Shimbashi Building (2022), among others.
In her designs, she places great importance on ensuring that, while meeting the required specifications, the building—regardless of its use—complements the people and the surrounding landscape and stands as a gentle, supportive presence, and that the plan is imbued with goodwill toward the people, organizations, and local communities associated with the building.
