The “2015 High-Level Forum on Urban Mixed-Use Development—Our City, Our Vision:Looking Toward the Future of Urban Mixed-Use Development,” Lu Zhongxiao, representative of our company Executive Officer Architectural Design Department, delivered a presentation titled “Creating Public Spaces in TOD.”Contemporary urban mixed-use development faces various challenges in areas such as regional planning, transportation, urban spatial structure, mixed-use development, spatial design, and management and operation, driven by urban densification and rapid development. In particular, urban mixed-use development in China is still in a phase of trial and error.The purpose of this forum was to share the know-how accumulated over many years in Japan with the academic and architectural communities to promote TOD-style development in major Chinese cities.
